ARTE France and developer Oopsie Daisies have announced that their upcoming adventure title, Tom the Postgirl, is scheduled for release on October 29 at midnight. The game will be available on PC and Mac via Steam, as well as on the Nintendo Switch platform.
Players take on the role of a new courier in a charming yet unsettling village. The gameplay centers on delivering packages while exploring the lives of residents who harbor dark secrets. Tom can engage in mischief, such as damaging property or peeking through windows, doors, and wall cracks to uncover hidden scandals involving characters like a narcissistic mayor or eccentric hippies.
The game features a distinct stop-motion aesthetic set within hand-painted environments. Beyond human interactions, players can observe strange wildlife, including drug-dealing pigeons and irritable squirrels. Mechanics allow for varied playstyles, ranging from diligent delivery work to causing chaos by trampling gardens or stealing items.
Replayability is encouraged through multiple endings, achievements, and unlockable character profiles. Players are invited to revisit the village to discover previously missed details and experiment with different approaches to uncovering the deepest secrets of the local inhabitants.
