Smilegate and Super Creative have launched the first-anniversary update for the roguelike RPG Chaos Zero Nightmare, titled 'Promise Written on the Snow,' on October 21. This release marks the fifth season of the 'Galactic Disaster' content, introducing a fresh narrative and a new seasonal combatant named Rosweise.
The update introduces Rosweise, a Justice-attribute striker inspired by traditional motifs like the five-colored elements and the four-tiger sword. Her gameplay centers on the 'Myung-Myeol-Geom' card system, where 'Light' and 'Dark' cards interact based on usage, eventually merging into a powerful skill. Players can explore her backstory through the newly added 'Trauma Code' feature.
Several system enhancements accompany the anniversary, including 'Card Skins' for illustrations and a 'Special' tier for costumes that alters motions, unique cards, and voice lines. Partners now feature 'Exploration Passives' providing party-wide buffs, while a new 'God's Flash Selection' function allows for customized data editing. Additionally, a mini-game called 'Nightmare Dream Park' has been added, which links to a charity campaign for undernourished children.
To celebrate the milestone, Smilegate is hosting the 'Nightmare Festival' until December 2. Players can access 70 free rescue attempts and receive rewards including a 5-star combatant and partner selector, plus 1,600 crystals. Further details regarding the update and ongoing events are available through the game's official community channels.
