IO Interactive has officially confirmed that the Nintendo Switch 2 version of 007 First Light is scheduled for release on 18th March, 2027. This announcement follows a previous delay from an initial summer window.
The developer stated that the additional time is necessary to refine the game's performance and optimization on the new hardware. Following positive feedback from hands-on demonstrations at gamescom and the Tokyo Game Show, the team intends to use the remaining months to ensure the title meets player expectations.
The upcoming release is expected to include previously added content such as New Game Plus, a harder difficulty setting, photo mode, and additional TacSim challenges. Furthermore, pre-orders for a Deluxe Edition are now available, providing players with exclusive in-game gadgets and clothing items.
While 007 First Light has achieved commercial success with over 4 million sales, IO Interactive faces broader challenges, including recent layoffs and the loss of Xbox as a publisher for its separate Project Fantasy title. Despite these hurdles, the studio remains focused on its current portfolio.
