Publisher 505 Pulse and developer Avantgarden have officially released the first-person adventure title Among the Trolls on Steam. The game centers on a protagonist named Anna who travels to a remote Finnish cabin to investigate the mysterious disappearance of her grandfather.
Gameplay focuses on exploration and environmental storytelling within a living, ancient forest setting. Players must navigate rugged coastal areas and remote islands, gathering clues and subtle details to piece together Anna's family history and uncover secrets hidden beneath the trees.
The narrative is deeply rooted in Finnish mythology and folklore, drawing inspiration from the poetic traditions of the Kalevala. Creative Director Giorgio Macellari stated that the development team aimed to create a world that feels ancient and alive, allowing players to encounter legendary beings and stories.
