Key information
Developer Team42 has brought its cozy taming MMORPG, World of Slimes, to the Steam Next Fest. This online event, hosted by Valve, allows users to explore upcoming titles through demo versions until October 26. The studio released a final update for the PC trial, introducing new regions and additional slimes for players to discover.
The game emphasizes exploration and relaxation over competitive progression. Players engage in monster taming and utilize a synthesis system to discover and strengthen unique slimes. The experience is designed to be soothing, featuring soft creature designs and charming visuals that aim to provide a healing atmosphere for its audience.
Social interaction is a core component, allowing users to explore with friends or form parties for battles. While the game avoids randomized loot boxes, Team42 plans to monetize through character customization skins and convenience items, such as town return scrolls, which are intended to save players time during their journey.
Following the Steam event, the title is scheduled for a full launch on mobile and PC this December. Team42 will also host a large booth at G-STAR 2026 in Busan from November 19 to 22. Attendees can expect to demo the mobile version and participate in pre-registration activities during the convention.
