Kalypso Media has launched a playable demo for its upcoming dictatorship simulation game, Tropico 7, coinciding with its participation in Steam Next Fest. Alongside the demo release, the publisher has officially opened pre-orders for the title.
The game introduces significant gameplay expansions, including the largest island archipelago in the series' history. Players can utilize a new terrain modification system to reshape landscapes, such as leveling mountains or creating beaches. Furthermore, the title features 10 additional scenarios, over 20 sandbox maps, and a random map generator.
Strategic city building is emphasized through building synergies and the ability to place customizable parks to boost citizen satisfaction. The internal affairs and diplomacy systems have been refined, allowing players to manage factions via committees. Additionally, the military system now offers increased direct control over troops for suppressing rebels or repelling foreign threats.
The demo includes the first campaign mission, titled Little Great Britain, which follows El Presidente and Penultimo as they confront a new antagonist, Victoria Guerra. Kalypso Media also detailed the Deluxe Edition, which grants buyers 48-hour early access, new outfits, a soundtrack, and various customization items.
