French comic artist duo Atelier Sentô, comprised of Cecile Brun and Olivier Pichard, has released a remake of their horror visual novel The Doll Shop for PC. The creators, who previously appeared as NPCs in Death Stranding 2 after Hideo Kojima shared their work on social media, drew inspiration from their time living in Niigata between 2009 and 2010.

The narrative follows a secretive doll maker living in the Japanese countryside. When a childhood friend returns to the village, the protagonist must choose between his beloved dolls and the prospect of a new life. Players can explore various locations, including a local shrine and a public bathhouse.

The game features a unique visual style where every element is hand-drawn on an iPad in a graphic novel aesthetic. Rather than opting for dark, terrifying visuals, the developers utilized warm, vibrant colors to create a striking contrast. The experience includes three distinct endings, with an additional hidden ending available to unlock.

The Doll Shop is currently available on Steam and itch.io. The standard price on Steam is 1,700 yen, though a 10% discount is available for 1,530 yen until October 20.
