The Pokemon Company recently shared new concept art for Pokemon Pokopia through its official Poke Times social media account. These images provide a behind-the-scenes look at how the development team at Game Freak approached the design of the creature known as Mosslax.
The artwork highlights six distinct facial expressions for the character, including default, sleeping, generic joy, massive joy with blush, anger, and sadness. Designers incorporated specific behavioral traits into these expressions, such as the flower on the creature's head closing during sleep or shaking when the character is blushing. Additionally, the artist depicted a lopsided smile to represent a happy mood.
Mosslax, officially referred to as Snorlax (covered in moss) on the Japanese website and known as Koke-Kabigon in-game, is the third special Pokemon to receive this spotlight. This series previously featured concept art for Professor Tangrowth and Peakychu.
Pokemon Pokopia is currently available for players to access globally on the Nintendo Switch 2 platform.
