On October 15, developer and publisher Gaming Factory launched the Steam store page for JDM: Ph4ntom Driver. This title is an arcade racing game set in an alternative version of Japan known as Guntama prefecture, which is currently ruled by demons and supernatural entities.
The gameplay focuses on high-speed vehicular combat where players use their cars as weapons. Instead of traditional armaments like guns or swords, drivers must rely on drifting, boosting, and ramming maneuvers to eliminate demonic enemies. The game emphasizes intuitive controls and arcade-style action.
Players explore an open world to find allies and gather new vehicle parts or machines. The ultimate goal involves confronting the demon king, Shoton-doji. While originally conceived as an expansion for JDM: Japanese Drift Master, the project evolved into a standalone title featuring original car designs inspired by the previous game.
JDM: Ph4ntom Driver will support the Japanese language and include a multiplayer mode upon release. Currently, the developer has not announced a specific launch date or pricing for the game.
