Gigabyte recently removed a blog post that explicitly mentioned the arrival of new Intel LGA1700 processors scheduled for early 2027. The original post suggested these chips would likely be a Raptor Lake refresh, intended to provide expanded DDR4 support.

The company has since replaced the announcement with a more vague statement on October 13. This updated version focuses on expanded BIOS support for Z790, B760, and H610 motherboards without referencing specific upcoming hardware, despite the existence of BIOS files labeled for future processor preparation.

While Gigabyte has scrubbed its explicit claims, the BIOS updates themselves, such as those for the Z790 Aero G, indicate ongoing preparations for new hardware. Other manufacturers like MSI and Asus have not made similar public disclosures regarding future processor support.

Industry speculation suggests these upcoming units will likely be Raptor Lake refreshes. There is hope that Intel might implement lower pricing strategies for these chips, similar to approaches seen with other recent product refreshes.
