At the Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Games, the Chinese team claimed the gold medal in the Identity V final by defeating Japan. Within this victorious squad, Mu Xinyue became the first female competitor to secure an esports gold medal at the tournament.
The competition utilized the Identity V Asian Games Version. This title functions as a 1v4 asymmetrical survival game where four participants act as survivors against a single hunter, with teams alternating roles and earning points based on successful escapes and eliminations.
Following early ties, China pulled ahead before the fourth round faced a near 30-minute interruption caused by an on-site network-cable problem. Xinhua noted that Mu maintained her composure during this stoppage, awaiting official instructions from referees and organisers.
Xinhua figures indicated that out of more than 500 registered athletes, only 14 were women, making Mu the sole female member in China's esports delegation. This historic victory arrives as an official medal sport following its prior demonstration status.
