AMD has officially addressed the recent release of vBIOS updates for its Radeon RX 7000 series graphics cards. While the company confirmed these firmware patches are intended to resolve potential security vulnerabilities, it has not yet provided specific technical details regarding the nature of the flaws.

The updates were initially distributed by Sapphire and Gigabyte. Gigabyte specifically referenced vulnerabilities categorized under the identifier AMD-SN-6023, although this designation remains absent from AMD's official product security documentation. AMD stated that these fixes are being issued ahead of a future public disclosure.

Despite the lack of transparency regarding the specific security risks, AMD emphasized that there are currently no reports of these vulnerabilities being exploited in real-world scenarios. The company advises users to install firmware updates as soon as they are provided by their respective hardware manufacturers.

Availability of the patches is currently limited to Sapphire and Gigabyte products. Other manufacturers, including ASUS, PowerColor, and XFX, have not yet posted updates on their support pages. Users are cautioned against flashing firmware intended for different brands onto their own graphics cards while awaiting official releases from their specific vendors.
