Danish developer BetaDwarf, known for Minion Masters, announced their new top-down extraction action RPG Vaultbreakers during the Triple-i Initiative Showcase. A free demo is currently available on Steam, which received positive feedback within 24 hours of its release. The title is being published with assistance from SQUARE ENIX COLLECTIVE.

The game supports up to three-player cooperative play in a fantasy setting. Players take on the role of Breakers to explore a corrupted world, utilizing ancient artifacts to customize combat styles. Success relies on tactical positioning and timing rather than raw statistics, as players must dodge lethal enemy attacks and identify openings to strike effectively.

The current demo allows players to explore the Wolf Forest map and progress through initial quests. While the game focuses on PvE, developers plan to introduce a PvPvE mode where players may encounter other human-controlled forces. The team emphasizes that PvP serves as a secondary element to add variety rather than becoming the primary focus of the experience.

Players can manage a base called the Shelter to unlock permanent upgrades and recruit NPCs. While story progress will not carry over to the full release, players can earn Legacy Points in the demo that unlock rewards in the final game. The full version is expected to feature five playable heroes.
