要点

Bolt Graphics has successfully completed the silicon bring-up of its Zeus test chip. This milestone supports the company's development of high-performance computing hardware, with plans to launch its first commercial GPU for general availability in 2028.

The 12 nm TSMC test chip features dedicated hardware for electromagnetic simulation and path tracing. By executing complex physics algorithms on fixed-function hardware, the architecture aims to overcome traditional performance and memory limitations found in standard CPU and GPU-based software, facilitating the simulation of complete products.

Testing of the A0 silicon was completed within 24 hours, showing no functional issues across a temperature range of -40 C to 85 C. The 6 sq mm chip operates at 1.4 watts, significantly more efficient than the 35-watt FPGA platform used for prototyping. The initial tape-out occurred in April.

To support volume production, Bolt has opened a new office in Taipei Nanshan Plaza. The company intends to use TSMC's N5P process node for its flagship GPU. Developer access is scheduled for the first quarter of 2027, followed by an Early Access Program in late 2027 and full production in 2028.
