Patch 7.57 has launched globally for Final Fantasy XIV, introducing a significant update for the Japanese physical data center. This update enables same-region player matching, a feature previously announced at FFXIV Fan Fest Berlin 2026. Currently, this functionality is exclusive to Japan, with no official timeline provided for its expansion to other global regions.
The matching update encompasses all four logical data centers in Japan, specifically Elemental, Gaia, Mana, and Meteor. Players across these worlds can now utilize cross-world features including Duty Finder, Party Finder, Crystalline Conflict Ranked Matches, and PvP Teams. Additionally, the update integrates cross-world linkshells, fellowship support, and expanded communication capabilities for friend lists and Free Company chat functions.
Beyond regional matching, the patch introduces technical refinements and prepares for the Crucible Rankings Season 1, which commences on October 25, 2026. Gameplay adjustments include improved AI behavior for Beastmaster pets, ensuring they orient toward targets after receiving stay commands. Furthermore, developers addressed specific capture mechanics within Amdapor Keep, North Shroud, and The Tam-Tara Deepcroft (Hard).
Final Fantasy XIV remains accessible on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X, and Switch 2. Following these recent adjustments, the development team is preparing for the release of the Evercold expansion, scheduled to launch in January 2027.
