Publisher Hamster announced on October 7, 2026, that Console Archives Ripple Island will launch on October 8 for Switch2 and PS5. The title will be priced at 800 yen including tax.
Ripple Island is an adventure game originally released by Sunsoft in 1988 for an 8-bit home console. Players take on the role of the protagonist Kyle, progressing through the story by utilizing nine different types of commands.
The main objective is to rescue Princess Nasarelu, who has been kidnapped by a monster calling himself Emperor Gerogere, and to restore peace to Ripple Island. The player's decisions and actions determine whether the princess is successfully rescued and if the protagonist ends up with the heroine.
The Console Archives series revives titles previously released on various home consoles to let players enjoy them on modern hardware, featuring functions such as button and screen customization, along with anywhere save and load capabilities. The game version included features only the domestic Japanese edition and Japanese text.
