At Brasil Game Show 2026, Salvador-based indie studio Pixell Games introduced Arcane Rift, a turn-based roguelite RPG currently in development. Programmer and designer Caio Araujo Nepnoceno de Lima stated the team aims for an April 2027 release on PC via Steam.
The game draws inspiration from Super Famicom-era RPGs, blending classic mechanics with modern quality-of-life improvements. Players navigate procedurally generated maps and random events, managing mana as a primary resource to exploit enemy weaknesses and execute complex ability combinations.
Lima emphasizes the depth of character builds, featuring over 50 types of equipment and skills. Success requires defeating at least four bosses per run. The narrative follows a group of heroes from the Rift Guild who, protected by Mana Cores, venture into the Arcane Rift to stop the antagonist Throuzogard from acquiring the Crown of Wisdom.
The four-person team, working remotely from Salvador, has spent approximately two years on the project. While a demo is scheduled for December 2026, the current release plan only supports English and Brazilian Portuguese, with no Japanese language support confirmed.
