To mark the 10th anniversary of Mafia III, 2K and Hanger 13 have released current-generation updates for the title on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. This release allows players to experience the story of Lincoln Clay as he builds a criminal empire in New Bordeaux.
The update introduces significant technical refinements, including improved lighting draw distances, corrected environmental rendering, and fixes for flickering assets. Developers also addressed mission progression blockers, NPC behavior issues, and various stability problems that previously caused crashes or gameplay interruptions.
PC users gain new quality-of-life features, such as additional FPS lock options ranging from 120 to 240, improved multi-monitor support, and the ability to toggle off window borders. Furthermore, UI elements and achievement tracking have been polished to ensure consistent feedback and accurate progress reporting.
Existing owners of the Definitive Edition on PlayStation 4 or Xbox One can access the current-gen versions at no additional cost via their respective storefronts. However, 2K notes that save files cannot be transferred from the previous console generation to the new versions.
