Universal has announced that Christopher Nolan's film The Odyssey will be released in digital and physical formats on November 17. The studio confirmed that 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, DVD, and digital versions will all launch simultaneously, with no early access period provided for digital purchasers.
The release follows the film's theatrical debut by four months. The project achieved significant commercial success, grossing over 1.77 billion dollars globally. It stands as the highest-grossing film in the director's career and the most profitable film for adults to date, notably being the first production filmed entirely with IMAX cameras.
Physical media collectors receive exclusive benefits, including an IMAX introduction video available only on disc formats. Universal is also offering Steelbook editions and a collector's version featuring a 60-page book, a poster, and postcards. The 4K discs support HDR10 imagery and DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 sound.
Home releases include over 90 minutes of bonus content approved by Nolan, featuring 12 behind-the-scenes documentaries. These segments detail the production of sets in Morocco, special effects, musical composition, and collaborations with cast members such as Matt Damon, Tom Holland, Anne Hathaway, Zendaya, Robert Pattinson, and Charlize Theron. Currently, no release date for streaming services has been disclosed.
