During the IGN Fall Fan Fest, developer 12AM Blackout unveiled a new trailer for Jiaohun. This first-person psychological horror experience is set within the fictional Fairy Town of Baishoi County, China, during the year 1999.
The gameplay focuses on exploration and puzzle-solving, drawing inspiration from Chinese folktales to examine themes of obsession. Players will navigate abandoned environments while encountering unsettling imagery, including masked figures, hands featuring eyes, and a mysterious nameless god.
A notable mechanic involves the use of period-appropriate technology, specifically 1990s-style pagers, which serve as mystical artifacts throughout the journey. These items are integrated into the game's atmosphere as players uncover various secrets hidden within the town.
Jiaohun is scheduled for release on PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam in 2027. Interested players can currently add the title to their Steam wishlist to track future updates.
