Developer Sundew Studios recently showcased their upcoming title, Tearoom of Terror, during the Cozy After Dark Showcase. Presented by the nonprofit Dames 4 Games, the game is described by writer and designer Allie Ast as a cozy gothic murder mystery.
Players manage a Victorian tea parlor, brewing lavender teas and serving scones to eccentric patrons. However, the protagonist is also the primary suspect in their aunt's murder, forcing them to balance daily operations with solving the crime.
The gameplay incorporates deduction mechanics similar to The Séance of Blake Manor. Players must identify the true culprit to avoid imprisonment, potentially using unconventional methods like poisoned sugar or worms to manage an immoral clientele and exploit the local officer's weak constitution.
While the release date for the full game remains unannounced, a demo for Tearoom of Terror is currently available for players to experience on Steam.
