A recent report from GamesBeat indicates that Grand Theft Auto 6 is expected to launch on PC during the first quarter of 2027. This information is attributed to four anonymous industry sources familiar with the development plans at Rockstar Games.
The potential release window suggests a significantly shorter period of console exclusivity compared to previous titles. While the game is scheduled to arrive on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S on 19th November, the PC version could follow just months later.
Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick previously acknowledged the high demand for a PC version, noting that the company does not typically release games across all platforms simultaneously. However, Rockstar Games has not officially confirmed this specific 2027 timeframe.
This timeline represents a departure from past Rockstar releases. For instance, Grand Theft Auto 5 saw a delay of over a year between its console debut and PC launch, while Red Dead Redemption 2 followed a similar pattern, arriving on PC more than a year after its initial console release.
