Grand Theft Auto VI may continue a long-standing franchise tradition by including a physical map of the state of Leonida within its retail box. While Rockstar Games has not officially confirmed this, reports originating from a United States GameStop location suggest that the upcoming release will feature this collector's item.
The potential inclusion of a map is significant because Rockstar Games has already confirmed that the physical editions for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S will not contain a game disc. Instead, these boxes will provide a download code, a decision that has previously disappointed some collectors who value traditional physical media.
Information regarding the map surfaced via a promotional sign at a GameStop store, with some users on Reddit claiming that employees verified the detail. However, journalist Cade Onder contacted five other retail locations, none of which could corroborate the existence of such a map, suggesting the claim should be viewed with caution.
Rockstar Games has a history of including physical maps in titles like GTA 3, Vice City, San Andreas, GTA 4, GTA 5, and Red Dead Redemption 2. The retail boxes for GTA 6 are scheduled to begin distribution on November 12, 2026, ahead of the game's official launch on November 19, 2026.
