Zavvi has officially entered administration and ceased all trading operations while the insolvency process is underway. The company, which previously operated as a major independent entertainment retailer, now faces potential closure.
The retailer confirmed through its website that it is currently unable to fulfill any outstanding orders or pre-orders. Furthermore, the company stated that it cannot accept returns for any items, leaving customers with pending transactions in a state of uncertainty.
BDO LLP has been appointed to manage the administration process. Zavvi has advised affected customers to contact their banks, card issuers, or payment providers to determine if they are eligible to recover payments for goods that were never received.
While the company previously entered administration in the past before being acquired by The Hut Group in 2009, the current situation remains precarious. It is unclear if this latest move is a genuine attempt to save the business or a measure to ensure investors recoup funds before a final closure.
