Epic Games has reportedly delayed an unannounced shooter featuring Star Wars and Marvel characters. While the project was originally slated for a March release, the studio has pushed back the launch to accommodate a new internal schedule, according to a Bloomberg report.

The studio is currently implementing an "AI first" production model, encouraging developers to utilize tools like Anthropic's Claude. Internal communications suggest a shift away from hand-written code, with plans for all project art to be generated through AI workflows.

CEO Tim Sweeney confirmed a "huge pivot" to retool for AI acceleration, aiming to enable faster playtesting and content creation. While Epic communications director Jake Jones stated that developers remain the creative drivers, the reported reliance on AI has left some staff members feeling stunned.

The delay follows Epic's underestimation of the resources required for the title. Following Disney's $1.5 billion investment in 2024, the future of this collaboration remains uncertain, with no clear information regarding when or where the game will eventually launch.
