Paramount has officially announced that the animated series Avatar: Seven Refuges will be expanded beyond its initial plans. The studio confirmed that the production will include a Book 3 and a Book 4, extending the narrative arc established by the first two books.
The series is set 255 years after The Legend of Korra. It follows Pavi, a young Earthbender who discovers she is the next Avatar. In this post-apocalyptic setting, Pavi must navigate a world where many view the Avatar as a threat to humanity, placing her life in constant danger.
Pavi is joined by her twin sister, Nisha, as they work together to uncover the truth regarding Pavi's origins. Their primary mission throughout the series involves protecting the seven refuges from the various threats they encounter in this hostile environment.
The first three episodes debuted on Paramount+ on October 9, receiving praise from both critics and audiences. While the first 13 episodes are scheduled for release throughout October, the premiere date for the subsequent 13 episodes in Book 2 remains unknown. In Portugal, the series is slated to arrive on SkyShowtime on October 17.
