Developer Afterburner Studios has announced that their upcoming action-platformer, Elta: Defy All Gods, is scheduled for release on February 2, 2027. Ahead of the launch, a free demo is available today on PlayStation 5, allowing players to experience the beginning of the adventure in the icy world of Lerna.
Described as a brawlervania, the title combines close-quarters martial arts combat and magic with demanding non-linear exploration across three science-fiction worlds. Players step into the role of the monk warrior Victus, utilizing three distinct martial arts styles with dedicated skill trees alongside platforming abilities such as double jumps, dashes, wall running, and grappling hooks.
The independent studio, consisting of three co-founders and roughly a dozen employees, developed the game over five years with assistance from publisher Focus Entertainment. On PlayStation 5, the game incorporates DualSense haptic feedback to enhance the physical weight of combat and platforming mechanics.
In addition to the free demo currently accessible on PS5, the developers announced that pre-ordering the full game will grant players the Vanguard Armor, a special skin for the protagonist Victus.
