The indie crafting game Dressmaker has received a significant update, introducing new content and quality-of-life improvements. Developer Cozy Lives released update 433 on Wednesday, October 14, aiming to address player feedback regarding controls and accessibility while expanding the creative options available to designers.

New content includes a chrysanthemum skirt with a less poofy variant, a pencil skirt, and various fabrics such as Autumnal and Spring Vine cottons, Taupe cotton, and several silks like Burning Forest and Snowflake Gradient. Players also gain access to new accessories, including a silver Narcissus chain and Widow's lace trim, which unlock through campaign progression.

Technical refinements include improved camera controls, such as smooth zooming and mannequin rotation, alongside smarter selection logic for accessories. The cutting room now features a button to grab all panel pieces, and scissors no longer discard fabric automatically, preventing accidental losses. Additionally, the developer adjusted trim placement and color requirements, though these changes may retroactively affect the alignment or scores of previous designs.

Creator Jonathan Hau-Yoon noted that while some changes require players to relearn parts of their workflow, they were necessary to resolve user frustration. The update also adds a randomize button to the sketchbook and provides new control hints on-screen to assist with complex features.
