Nintendo held a media preview for the Super Family Restaurant, a new dining facility located within the Nintendo Museum in Uji, Kyoto. Scheduled to open this autumn, the restaurant is situated on the second floor of the museum's second exhibition building. It is designed to provide a space where visitors can reflect on their museum experiences and memories related to Nintendo products while dining.
The menu features a variety of options, including large shared platters designed to evoke the experience of playing games together around a single screen. Guests can also order individual a la carte items, special drinks, and desserts. Specific menu offerings include mushroom salad, Excite potatoes, fried chicken, onion gratin soup, corn soup, baguette, and rice. During the preview, a sample portion of the shared platter known as Paku Paku Island was served.
Access to the restaurant is restricted to museum visitors, and it is expected to operate on a reservation basis managed within the facility on the day of the visit. While the official opening is planned for this autumn, a soft opening period is scheduled to begin in November for select visitors to prepare for full operations. Details regarding the specific dates and participation methods for this trial period remain undisclosed.
