Publisher Smilegate announced that Season 5 of Chaos Zero Nightmare, titled "Promise Exchanged in Snow," will officially launch on October 21. This update follows the preview period that began on September 30 and coincides with the game's first anniversary celebrations.
The new season introduces the planet Nivalis and the crashed ark Front Nova, now transformed into the chaotic region "Heavenly Barrier." Players will encounter new enemies, including the boss Valtraute, while uncovering secrets regarding the gods and the nature of chaos.
New combatant Roswiese, voiced by Ayaka Suwa, utilizes a unique "Light and Dark" card system. By manipulating these cards, players can trigger powerful combined attacks. Additional characters like Blaze Bell and Dalia are also slated for release, alongside a new idle management event called Nightmare Dream Park.
Looking ahead, Smilegate plans to introduce the game's first multiplayer mode, "Joint Operation - Core Break," in December. This feature allows two players to cooperate against bosses using shared tactical choices and specialized mechanics, supporting both friend invitations and random matchmaking.
