Publisher Phoenixx announced that the Nintendo Switch digital version of Quiz Seikai wa Ichinen-go presents Atsushi no Meitantei will be removed from sale on December 30. To mark the announcement, a sale is currently active offering the title at 50 percent off until October 31.
The game originated from the TBS television program Quiz Seikai wa Ichinen-go. Developed by Happymeal, the title was initially created as a command-selection adventure game for a 2023 broadcast segment, where only 10 Famicom-compatible ROM cartridges were produced and sold at various shops to test if players could complete it.
The game features a high difficulty level, described as unreasonable and malicious, paying homage to the 1987 Famicom title Sanma no Meitantei. Due to these design choices, the Nintendo Store product page includes a disclaimer warning that the publisher will not accept complaints after purchase.
While the digital version will no longer be available for purchase after December 30, users who have already bought the game will retain the ability to redownload and play it. Physical copies and the Collector's Edition are currently listed as out of stock at major retailers.
