Sony has unveiled a new Midnight Black version of the PlayStation 5 Digital Edition. This hardware iteration features a matte-black finish applied to both the console and its included DualSense controller.
The console is scheduled for release on Nov. 19, coinciding with the launch of Grand Theft Auto 6. It is priced at ¥55,000, maintaining the same cost structure as the previous Japan-exclusive model released last year.
Functionally, the unit remains a digital-only console. Users requiring disc-based gaming capabilities must purchase a separate Midnight Black disc drive, which Sony will offer for ¥11,980.
Availability is strictly limited to the Japanese market. While international consumers cannot purchase this specific bundle, Sony currently provides Midnight Black console covers for existing hardware at a price of $54 for those seeking a similar aesthetic.
