Awaking Beauty features a 2D side-scrolling action style with American cartoon visuals. Players control girls piloting mechs to navigate a mysterious dream world following a failed experiment known as the Dream Door Project. The core gameplay centers on a dual-character combat system, allowing players to switch between characters or engage in local cooperative play. Combat is enhanced by weapon and skill customization, random chip combinations, and a Dream Flash Turbine system designed to increase the pace of action.
The developer, known for their previous work on the workplace-themed game Quit Today, views this nomination as a significant opportunity for international exposure. The SHIBA GAME AWARD organizers have provided an online virtual venue where players can explore the various participating titles.
