Developer Secret Door has launched a playable demo for its upcoming roguelite title, Shadowstone. This project, set within the same universe as the studio's previous release Sunderfolk, is now available for players to experience on Steam.
The game features tactical combat set on a hex grid, where players must navigate a shifting labyrinth while facing monsters and magic. Participants can engage in solo play or join a party of two to four players to execute synergistic combos and movements.
The demo provides access to the first two acts, featuring six playable characters, six challenges, and two boss encounters. Players can select rituals to gain power at a specific cost and utilize a talent tree to upgrade their heroes after each run.
This release serves as a preview ahead of the game's participation in the upcoming Steam Next Fest. The narrative premise involves heroes attempting to escape a labyrinth under the observation of an arcane entity referred to as The Eye.
