Final Fantasy VII Revelation director Naoki Hamaguchi has publicly addressed ongoing fan skepticism regarding the game's performance on lower-specification hardware. During a recent interview, Hamaguchi expressed frustration over persistent doubts from players concerning the title's viability on platforms such as the Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox Series S, and Steam Deck.

To ensure quality across all platforms, the development team has implemented a specialized internal structure. Hamaguchi explained that the studio utilizes separate, dedicated teams: one group focuses exclusively on gameplay mechanics, while a distinct team of talented engineers handles all optimization tasks. This division of labor is intended to ensure a smooth experience regardless of the hardware.

The director emphasized that players should trust the team's ability to deliver a high-quality multiplatform experience. He noted that the development process for Revelation differs from previous entries, as the game is being designed with weaker hardware as a baseline from the early stages of production.

Final Fantasy VII Revelation is scheduled for a simultaneous global release on April 8, 2027. The title will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam, marking the first time a game in the Remake trilogy launches on multiple platforms concurrently.
