Hello Games has announced that No Man's Sky will launch on the iOS ecosystem on October 28, 2026. Following a decade of updates since its 2016 debut, the studio is bringing its expansive space simulation to mobile devices, aiming to provide the full experience rather than a simplified version.
The game utilizes procedural generation to maintain an initial download size of under 5 GB. By using the device's processor to generate environments in real-time based on mathematical seeds, the app avoids the massive storage requirements typical of modern mobile titles.
To ensure thermal stability, the launch version includes specific functional concessions. Hello Games confirmed that multiplayer, cross-save, and cross-play features will be inactive at release. Additionally, planetary colony management will be unavailable initially, with the studio planning to deploy these features in future patches based on performance stability.
The title follows a free-to-try model, allowing users to test the game before purchasing the full experience for a one-time fee of $19.99. Unlike other demanding AAA ports, the game supports older hardware, including the iPhone 11. Currently, no Android version has been announced.
