Nintendo has officially stated that it has no intentions to discontinue the distribution of physical video games. Bill van Zyll, the company's vice-president and general manager for Latin America, emphasized the importance of respecting player preferences for traditional media formats.

While the broader industry is shifting toward digital-only models, Nintendo maintains a flexible strategy. The company aims to adapt its offerings based on consumer choices rather than following the trends set by other platforms like PlayStation.

Regarding the Nintendo Switch 2, which was released just over a year ago, the hardware was specifically designed to accommodate both digital and physical software. Van Zyll confirmed there are no plans to remove the console from traditional retail stores.

Physical support on the Switch 2 remains available through two distinct methods: game cartridges and game-key cards. This ensures that players retain the ability to purchase and own physical editions for their gaming library.
