Just Dance: Decades of Hits is now available for Xbox Series X|S. The title features a collection of hit songs spanning from the ‘70s to the present day, aiming to provide a musical journey through various eras for players of all generations.
The game supports local multiplayer for up to six participants using smartphones as controllers. Solo players can engage with a new Adventure mode, which follows a narrative involving Lyra, the daughter of Dr. Gigavolt, as she traverses six themed worlds to rescue her father.
Choreography Director Estelle Manas explains that the dance moves were designed to reflect the specific aesthetic and attitude of each decade. The team researched historical music videos and television shows to ensure authenticity. The choreography ranges from simple, accessible movements to intermediate and extreme difficulty levels, including options for seated play to accommodate varying mobility needs.
To maintain variety, the development team created unique characters and worlds for every track. Notably, the game introduces a map featuring five coaches simultaneously for the first time, with Manas highlighting the choreography for “Wannabe” as a particular standout for its character-driven energy.
