According to Bloomberg journalist Jason Schreier, the multiplayer component for Grand Theft Auto 6 is currently projected to launch in 2027. Rockstar Games is prioritizing the single-player campaign for the initial release, choosing to keep the focus on the main title for now.
The 2027 window for the online mode may coincide with the release of the PC version of the game, which is anticipated to arrive during the first few months of that year. Meanwhile, Take-Two Interactive has confirmed that it will continue supporting the existing GTA Online, which remains highly successful and generates approximately 500 million dollars annually.
Rockstar director Jennifer Kolbe addressed speculation regarding the project's financial scale. She clarified that the development budget for the game has not exceeded 1.5 billion dollars, effectively dismissing rumors about higher costs.
While the company looks toward the future, it has indicated that players will not have to wait eight years for the next major Rockstar title following the release of Grand Theft Auto 6.
