Keen Games has announced that the survival action RPG Enshrouded will transition from early access to its official version 1.0 on October 15, 2026. Players take on the role of a Flameborn, tasked with restoring the kingdom of Embervale, which has been devastated by a mysterious, world-consuming fog known as the Shroud.
The game features voxel-based building and crafting, allowing players to manipulate the environment using tools like pickaxes to uncover hidden areas or construct elaborate bases. Combat is highly customizable, offering various melee, ranged, and magical styles. The 1.0 update introduces new biomes, additional monster types, and a logic system called Sparkworks that enables complex architectural designs.
Reviewer assessments highlight the game's depth, though some drawbacks were noted. The reviewer praised the freedom of exploration and the satisfying nature of the crafting systems. However, they pointed out that some Japanese translations feel unnatural.
