Publisher Luckycalf and developer Geo Seed Games announced on the 15th that their MMORPG Never Wither is participating in the Steam Next Fest. A free demo is currently available, marking the first time the title features multiplayer functionality, allowing players to explore the continent of Eda with friends.
The game is a survival-crafting action RPG where players act as gardeners of the World Tree. Core mechanics involve collecting and possessing various creatures to survive, build, and fight against the corruption spreading across Eda. Players can utilize unique abilities from beasts, elementals, and spirits to gather resources, produce goods, and defend their territory.
The demo provides access to the Emerald Valley, covering approximately 20% of the full map. It includes 19 collectible creatures and 4 bosses, offering an estimated 3 to 5 hours of gameplay. Players can cultivate their companions by training them to learn new skills or by purifying rare, corrupted individuals to gain unique variants.
Multiplayer allows users to invite friends to cooperate on building, gathering, and boss encounters, with options to enable PVP modes. The demo supports English, Simplified Chinese, and Traditional Chinese. Please note that save data from this trial will not carry over to the final release.
