Gerappa announced that the Steam early access title Sangokushi BOND will receive a major update on October 13, 2026. This content expansion introduces 29 new military commanders and a new strategist, Sima Yi.
The game functions as a deck-building roguelite where players recruit commanders to form formations and engage in automated battles. It emphasizes strategic drafting from randomized selections rather than action-based inputs or microtransactions.
The 29 new commanders are categorized by rarity: 9 SR, 6 R, 6 UC, and 8 C. Notable SR additions include Zhang Liao, Taishi Ci, Sun Ce, Lu Ji, Dong Zhuo, Lady Yan, Xiahou Dun, Ma Chao, and Huang Yueying.
Several new units feature abilities that trigger during the "endgame" phase. For instance, Zhang Liao gains attack power with successful charges, while Ma Chao receives boosts to attack, movement speed, and charge damage. Strategist Sima Yi can activate a command four counts into the endgame to modify the attack stats of both allies and enemies, allowing for new tactical synergies.
