Developer Pokuch has officially confirmed that the open-world survival game Blind Descent will enter early access on Steam. The title follows an expedition team searching for missing colleagues on Mars, where their mission quickly shifts into a desperate struggle for survival within an alien environment.
The early access version will feature base building, exploration, core survival mechanics, and a portion of the narrative. Players can expect 10 to 15 hours of story content, which is primarily delivered through environmental clues that encourage thorough exploration of the Martian landscape.
Development will continue toward a full 1.0 release, with the team planning to implement additional biomes, creatures, and gameplay mechanics. While the game has already reached 300,000 wishlists on Steam, some fans have drawn comparisons between this project and titles like Subnautica and The Forest.
The early access period is scheduled to begin on 2 December 2026 and is expected to last for approximately one year. However, Pokuch noted that this timeline remains subject to change based on player feedback received during the development process.
