Other Ocean Interactive, the studio behind Project Winter, announced that its new social deduction game 4 Penny Coffins will launch on Steam on October 27. The title supports up to eight players in multiplayer and also includes a dedicated solo mode.
Matches are structured into three distinct phases: incident, investigation, and trial. One player acts as the Ripper, while the remaining participants function as investigators tasked with gathering evidence to identify the killer. The game concludes every round with a verdict reached during the final trial phase.
Players choose from three roles—police officer, doctor, or journalist—each equipped with unique tools like fingerprint collection, blood analysis, or photography. Evidence acts as physical items that can be shared or hidden, while the Ripper can manipulate the scene by bribing witnesses or removing fingerprints from weapons.
Evidence is designed as puzzle pieces that reveal what occurred but not necessarily why. Participants must engage in discussion and deduction to determine if the gathered clues represent the truth or are intended to obscure the facts.
