Mgame is set to release Ghost Online Idle in mid-November, leveraging its long-standing Ghost Online intellectual property. The developer aims to attract both nostalgic fans and new players by offering a fresh take on the original story, which features a narrative twist where the protagonist, Taehwa-nogun, uncovers a hidden mastermind behind his betrayal.
The game shifts from the original horizontal interface to a vertical layout, specifically designed for the idle genre. Players manage a combat team of three, including the main character and two companions. According to Planning Team Leader Park Seong-tae, strategic character combinations are essential for overcoming various dungeons, with the user interface providing visual feedback on failure causes.
To maintain player engagement without overwhelming them, the team plans frequent updates rather than dumping content at launch. Daily tasks are designed to be completed within 5 to 10 minutes, with focused play sessions lasting around one hour. While PvP and large-scale group content are currently in development, they will not be available at the initial launch.
The game includes a village hub for real-time social interaction and cooperative activities like raids. Monetization focuses on companion acquisition through limited daily pulls, while cosmetic items provide minor bonuses for adventure modes but are excluded from PvP to maintain balance. Mgame intends to release major story expansions every three to six months.
