Starting October 13, LINE Yahoo has partnered with The Pokémon Company to enhance the trading environment for Pokémon Trading Card Game products on Yahoo! Flea Market and Yahoo! Auctions. This collaboration aims to foster a safer marketplace for users by addressing potential issues in the secondary market.
The new policy prohibits specific types of listings, including carton-level sales and the listing of empty boxes or empty packs. Additionally, the platforms will restrict the bulk listing of identical products for a set period following a new release. This specific restriction on bulk listings will take effect starting with the Pokémon Card Game 30th CELEBRATION set.
These measures follow a memorandum of understanding signed by the two companies in July 2023. Since that agreement, the entities have collaborated on sharing product information, reporting infringing listings, and removing content that violates platform terms. The current expansion of these efforts is based on ongoing discussions regarding the evolving market conditions for trading cards.
Moving forward, The Pokémon Company will provide LINE Yahoo with additional data regarding products or distribution methods that may lead to improper transactions or consumer disputes. Both companies intend to continue monitoring the market to ensure a secure environment for users to buy and trade their collections.
