Xbox is reportedly paying significantly less than the rumored 400 million dollars for Hideo Kojima's upcoming action espionage game Physint.

Christopher Dring of The Game Business originally mentioned a budget around 400 million dollars, noting he heard estimates ranging from 300 million to 600 million dollars. Dring later retracted this, clarifying that Microsoft pays far less than what was initially pitched to Sony. Bloomberg reporter Jason Schreier and Windows Central journalist Jez Corden confirmed the negotiated amount is substantially lower, with Corden calling it a fraction.

Physint is Kojima Productions' upcoming action espionage title and spiritual successor to the Metal Gear Solid series. Sony allegedly pulled funding after budget overruns and missed deadlines. The Xbox agreement additionally secures film and television licensing rights for Physint, alongside improved terms for Kojima's other project, OD.

Physint's final platform availability remains unconfirmed. Kojima stated that an announcement will arrive at a later time and he cannot share more right now.
