Ubisoft has announced the closure of its RedLynx studio and a reduction in staff at its Singapore location. These decisions follow an internal assessment conducted by management to evaluate the long-term viability of these specific production teams.
The RedLynx closure involves the dismissal of 52 employees, as reported by VGC. Management determined that maintaining the studio was unsustainable, particularly because the team currently lacks any active projects. RedLynx, historically recognized for the Trials series, had not released a new title since 2019 and had previously reduced its headcount by 60 people in October 2025.
Regarding Ubisoft Singapore, the company is laying off approximately 70 staff members. This decision was reached after evaluating the studio's future role within the organization's upcoming projects. Despite the studio serving as the primary developer for Skull and Bones and contributing to the recent Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced, these contributions did not prevent the workforce reduction.
These organizational changes reflect Ubisoft's broader strategy to restructure its internal production capabilities. The company is actively adjusting its studio footprint to align with its long-term operational goals.
