Ubisoft has announced a proposal to shut down its Finnish studio RedLynx, the developer behind the Trials franchise. This move is part of a broader corporate restructuring effort aimed at cutting costs and transitioning the company into a new Creative Houses organizational model.
The proposed closure of the RedLynx studio in Finland is currently subject to local change negotiation processes. If finalized, this action would result in the loss of up to 52 positions within the Finnish team.
Simultaneously, Ubisoft is implementing staff reductions at its Singapore studio, which served as the lead developer for Skull and Bones. The company confirmed that 70 positions are impacted by these changes, which are intended to align the studio's capacity with future production requirements.
Despite the significant job losses, Ubisoft stated that the Singapore facility remains a vital component of its global production network. The firm expressed a commitment to supporting affected employees throughout the transition process, emphasizing that these decisions were made with care and respect for the teams involved.
