Al Drams and Coco Cao, founders of the startup Blueprints AI, are showcasing their latest technology at TechCrunch Disrupt in San Francisco. Incorporated in 2025, the company aims to automate repetitive drafting tasks that currently consume approximately 80% of an architect's workday.

The startup’s second-generation software allows users to generate comprehensive construction blueprints from simple descriptions or 2D sketches. The system covers architecture, structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and interior design elements. A key feature is its ability to automatically update the entire project when a single design change is made, while simultaneously verifying compliance with local building codes.

According to the co-founders, the software does not replace licensed professionals. Instead, it serves as a tool for architects, engineers, and developers, with licensed experts still required to review and seal documents before permit submission. The models were trained using eight years of data from Drams’ own architecture and construction firm.

The second-generation software becomes publicly available this week. While the first iteration currently costs between $3,200 and $8,500 monthly, the company is exploring additional pricing models, including potential flat-fee options for single-project users. Development is already underway for a third version, which will incorporate structural analysis and electrical panel design.
